Alternative Museum - Design and Dress

Alternative Museum
The Fashion and Textiles Museum:
Design and Dress
For my last university project of my second year I was briefed to create a piece of experiential design for a London museum of my choice. I chose the Textiles and Fashion Museum and developed designs for an Interactive Augmented Reality design station educating visitors about the history of fashion in a kinaesthetic way, and encouraging a new audience to the museum. Specifically focusing on fashion in the 1960s inspired by the textile designs by Andy Warhol.
Stage 1 - Wayfinding
Advertising around London to encourage people to go.
Stage 2 - Arrival
Welcoming you to the museum and introducing the activity.
Stages 3 & 4 - Design and Dress
Visitors go round the museum and then partake in the Design and Dress activity. They can chose to learn about a decade of fashion and create a design inspired by this theme. Augmented Reality allows the designs to come to life on a screen, shown as real clothes worn by the participants.
Stage 5 - Share
Visitors are encouraged to share their creations to inspire new people to visit the museum.
